Fred Thompson passes Giuliani in the latest Rasmussen Poll!

"Well, it's only one poll, and the margin is only one point. But according to the latest Rasmussen Poll, Fred Thompson has passed Rudy Giuliani and is now the front runner for the 2008 Republican Presidential nomination. And this two weeks before he even announces his candidacy!Thompson gets 28% of likely GOP primary voters, whereas Rudy gets 27. John McCain and Mitt Romney trail badly with 10%. Mike Huckabee and Sam Brownback each draw 2%, leaving Tancredo, Hunter, Paul, Gilmore and Tommy Thompson dividing 3% among them.Eighteen percent are undecided.Last week Thompson and Giuliani were tied for the lead, each with 24%. McCain and Romney have each lost one point in the last week. While Romney seems to be holding steady and is actually doing relatively well in certain states (here in Iowa, where he's spending big bucks on media, in particular), his national campaign seems to have stalled. McCain's candidacy is going downhill fast."
